We can start enjoying beautiful warm weather again. For the processors of EPI products, that provides some extra points of interest for the best end result.
Leave windows and doors closed! This will prevent insects and dust from getting into the floor. To get the temperature down, it sounds logical to ventilate well and open windows and doors. DO NOT!
Keep in mind that you may have to start work extra early in order to still have the right ambient temperature for processing. Sometimes you will even have to postpone the job.
Don’t forget to inform your client because it can have a big impact on their schedule.
Note that the products can become very hot during transport and storage, allow at least 24 hours for the products to acclimate in the area where they will be processed. This should be a cool, dry and ventilated area and in the original, sealed packaging.
For the vast majority of our products, the optimum processing temperature is between 15 and 23 degrees. If the temperature is too high, the material may not flow well or the processing time may be faster or slower. Temperature also affects pot life; higher temperatures shorten it. In addition, relative humidity and dew point are important, they affect the processing time and can even interfere with curing.
Please read through the most recent Product Data Sheet in advance or contact us for advice so you can factor it into your planning.
