Tom and Alexandra bought a beautiful home in Naarden in 2018. They wanted to renovate the home, which was built in 1980, completely to their own taste. They knocked on the door of an architect, but ultimately the couple chose to create and execute their own design.
Soundproofing and low maintenance
The couple wanted a concrete-look floor on both the upstairs and downstairs but without the negative properties of concrete. The sound-absorbing and low-maintenance properties of a cast floor led them to the EPI Superbase cast floor. “We went to look at Karakter Vloeren in Naarden and we received fantastic help there,” says Tom. “We were allowed to take samples with us to see which color would look best in our home. Upstairs we chose the color Sandy and downstairs we applied the color Blend Nature.”
Exactly the right color
“To make sure that the color composition of the blend floor would be correct, we were present at the installation of the floor,” Alexandra continues. “It’s very nice to be able to check in advance that the blend is really what you had envisioned and the result is quite stunning!” “I really like the floor,” adds Tom. “It is a pleasure to walk on it, it is easy to keep clean and it looks great!”
